Bocky Boo Gelato is open: The first doors at The Acres

It’s official. The Acres is open for business.

And fittingly, the first tenant to open its doors is somewhere made for stopping by, catching up and treating yourself.

Bocky Boo Gelato Halswell is now open, marking an exciting milestone for The Acres and the beginning of a new neighbourhood destination for Halswell.

Bocky Boo Gelato brings its much-loved mix of gelato, sorbet, plant-based treats, coffee and desserts to the neighbourhood. The Halswell store is open seven days a week, from 10am to 9pm.

Something for every sweet tooth

If you’ve visited Bocky Boo Gelato before, you’ll know there’s a lot more going on than just a scoop of vanilla.

Bocky Boo Gelato produces more than 80 flavours, with cabinets filled with a rotating selection of gelato, sorbet and plant-based options. Their gelato is made using Italian ingredients, while the flavour line-up brings plenty of familiar Kiwi favourites into the mix.

There are classics like Cookies n’ Cream, Rocky Road and Tiramisu, alongside flavours such as Pavlova, Raspberry Choc Tip and Boysenberry. And for those looking for something plant-based, there are options including Coconut Salted Caramel and Choc a Bloc.

In other words, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll find something worth coming back for.

The first of many

Bocky Boo Gelato’s opening is more than just the arrival of a new local gelato spot. It’s the first chapter in The Acres coming to life.

After years of planning and construction, it’s exciting to finally see the spaces we’ve been working towards starting to fill with people, businesses and a bit of everyday Halswell life.

The vision for The Acres has always been to create somewhere that feels easy to visit and connected to the community – a place to meet, eat, shop, get things done or simply stop for a while. As more tenants open their doors, that vision will continue to take shape.
